Aglaia “Litsa” Gianaros, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Tarpon Springs on August 18, 2026, at 3:30 PM, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 11, 1947, in Palamba, Greece, to the late Costas and Evgenia Brahos, Litsa was known to all by her radiant, sun-like smile and her glorious, magnetic personality. After graduating from beauty school in Athens in the 1960s, she immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s upon marrying the love of her life, Costa “Dino” Gianaros. Together, they built their forever home on Sunrise Drive in Tarpon Springs, where she spent decades cultivating warmth, community, and unconditional love.
Litsa lived a life centered around hospitality. She found her greatest joy in gardening, cooking delicious meals, hosting gatherings, and above all, spending time with her cherished family. To know Litsa was to feel welcomed, nourished, and deeply loved.
She is now peacefully reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Costa, her cherished son, John, and her revered grandson, Nicholas.
Her vibrant memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends, who knew her best as a devoted mother, Yiayia, Thea, and friend. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Dana Gianaros of St. Johns, Florida, and Katrina (George) Zazaliaris (Gianaros) of Tarpon Springs; her eight grandchildren, Magdaliene, Panagiotis, Kimberly, Nicholas, Costa, Brooklin, Ava, and Aerialla; her nine great-grandchildren, Isabella, Nicole, Nicholas, Aiden, Maverick, Julian, Katherine, Nikolai, and Lucian; her brother-in-law Chris Gianaros and his wife Dee; and her nephews, Dr. Peter Gianaros, Gus Gianaros, Dr. Robert Allen Johnson, and Rev. Tommy Allen Johnson.
