Rejoicing in memories and filled with grief, we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Roger Francis Dreiling. At 74, he was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 14th. He passed away peacefully at Trinity Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida surrounded by family who loved him dearly.

Roger was born on February 19th, 1952 in Hays, Kansas to the parents of Ann Dreiling and Edmund Dreiling. He grew up in Victoria, Kansas and later moved to Hays, Kansas where he graduated from Hays High School in 1970. Shortly after graduating, Roger joined the U.S Armed Forces on July 24th, 1970. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his commitment to the Armed Forces. His honorable service ended on July 23rd, 1976. Roger then worked 23 years for the United Parcel Service. After retiring from UPS, he began working at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas and later joined Fox Hollow Golf Course in Trinity, Florida.

Roger is survived by his three daughters, Traci Dreiling, Gibsonton, Florida; Mandy Dreiling, Lawrence, Kansas; and Kayla Crotts (Jake) of Windsor, Colorado; three brothers, Leroy Dreiling (Sonya) of Salina, Kansas; Leon Dreiling (Judy) of Denver, Colorado; Brian Dreiling (Tammy) of Hays, Kansas; his sister, Carol Groen (Daryl) of Hays, Kansas; five grandchildren, Alexis Dreiling, DeMarcus Dreiling, Jalen Antonio, Ella Crotts, and Jesse Spates; seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two grandpuppies, Jet and Pixie.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister-in-law Judy Dreiling, and grandson Keyshawn Spates.

His biggest passions were spending time with his family, catching up with all his friends at his favorite bar, playing spades and dominoes, golfing, and yelling at the TV while watching the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs. Roger will be remembered for his bright smile, infectious laugh, and his outspoken sense of humor. To know him was to love him and his legacy will be carried forward as a reminder of how hard he loved. He was the best Dad/P-Pa who lived life to the fullest, was a friend to everyone, and loved with his whole heart. His commitment and work ethic to anything in life was that of a bull, but his soft and priceless soul always filled the room with laughter and memories to last a lifetime. He is already, and forever will be, missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
