Judy Hale, 83, of Holiday, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 22, 2026. Born May 17, 1943, she lived a life marked by quiet faithfulness, creative generosity, and a deep love for her family and the people God placed around her.
Judy was a faithful follower of Jesus and a devoted member of the body of Christ at The Church at Odessa.
Music was a passion of Judy’s. Attending Omaha Baptist Bible College, she participated in choir tours. As a young woman, she would often sing at Olivet Baptist Church, where her father served as pastor. To this day, people still speak of the beauty of Judy’s voice. Now she’s joined the angels around the throne of God who never cease singing, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
As the oldest of five children, she set an example that her siblings took pride in following. In her final hours, conversation was exchanged, with each expressing love, care, and joy in our eternal hope in Christ.
Judy was creative and industrious, dearly loved children and passionately taught Sunday School for many years.
She was characterized by teachability and openness to the ongoing work of God’s Word in her life. She learned not to turn inward in hardship but to allow the Lord to use those seasons to purify her and strengthen her. She delighted to remind those around her that nothing takes a sovereign God by surprise; that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves the humble in spirit; and that His love and faithfulness never fail. Her favorite Scriptures were Proverbs 3:5–6, which she not only faithfully recited but, more so, her life demonstrated.
Judy was married to Tom on July 3, 1964, and had five children who were her joy.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; her five children, Kristi (Kelly), Kevin (Suzanne), Kyle (Lisa), Kenric, and Kurt (Karina); 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings; and the many whose lives were touched by her quiet faithfulness and her steady witness to the goodness of God.
A formal service and celebration of Judy’s life will be held at The Church at Odessa on Saturday, October 17, at 11 a.m. A lunch reception will follow immediately.

Judy has been a lifetime Friend & Sister in CHRIST to me. I grew up with the Durham Family – her Dad (Uncle Floyd) was our beloved Pastor & like a second father to my Brother & me. I cherish the memories we shared during my childhood & early adult years ! Judy, along with her Sister, Jeannie were my faithful playmates. We enjoyed singing together, especially in the Choir of Olivet Baptist Church. We were also schoolmates at Kansas City Christian School. I thank GOD for the Friendship & Sisterhood we had in GOD’s Family !♡! Rejoicing that Judy is now Home in Heaven with our SAVIOR, The LORD JESUS CHRIST !!!

Judy was our faithful example and friend growing up at Olivet Baptist Church in KCKS. She and Tom took Shirley and me under their wings when we were a young married couple and invited us to serve with them in the Youth Group. She was our big sister, so kind and supportive. We learned servanthood while serving with her. We were shaped and formed by her Christlike character for the ministry we have served in for the past 50 years. Much more could be said. We love her dearly! Tim and Shirley Wilbur

I still remember her kindness and love for an annoying kid when I was in Awana or at her house with Kyle. She was ever the godliest of examples and heaven grew sweeter still with her arrival!
