David Anderson, 83, of Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026.

Born in Philadelphia on November 28, 1942, David spent much of his life in the Philadelphia area. Over the years, he worked for The Philadelphia Inquirer, in the trucking industry, and in real estate throughout the Philadelphia suburbs before retiring to Port Richey in 2011.

David remained a Philadelphian at heart and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Flyers. He also had a lifelong appreciation for music, particularly opera and jazz.

Retirement in Florida brought David not only sunshine, but a community of friends who became an important part of his life. He developed especially close friendships through Lagerhaus, Craft Life Brewing, and Barriehaus, where he enjoyed good beer, good conversation, and the company of people he came to consider dear friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristin; his son, Jude, and daughter-in-law, Melanie; his granddaughters, Michaela and Mikenna; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

David will be remembered for the life he built in both Pennsylvania and Florida, the music and teams he loved, and the friendships and family connections he leaves behind.

Details on a Celebration of Life will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David’s memory to Gulfside Hospice.
