Tommy Reese Stone, of Hudson, Florida died 17 Feb 2020 after many years of illness. Finally at peace, he was holding his loving wife's hand when he passed away. The son of Thomas and Miranda Stone, born in Bath County, Kentucky July, 1931 he was one of 6 boys and 2 girls. He spent much of his life living in Millersburg and Carlisle, Kentucky and was an active member of American Legion Post 257 prior to his illness.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force, most notably with the 812th SUPRON (SAC) during the Korean War and earned the National Defense Service medal.
He loved the Kentucky Wildcats, playing Euchre with his fellow veterans, treating his friends and family out to a good meal, and taking his beloved Brenda to play Bingo, out dancing and traveling. For Tommy, there were no steps, his wife's children were his as well and he loved them with all his heart. Selfless to a measure that could be a standard to live by, he was truly that guy who would do anything for anyone and expect nothing in return.
His beloved grandchildren adored their Pappaw and loved nothing more than spoiling them rotten. He was quite the child whisperer and when there were tears or a need for a nap, Tommy's shoulders were always the best spot.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Bill, Clay, Charles, James, Bob, June, and Louise, as well as his daughter in law Deborah.
He leaves behind his wife Brenda, his daughter Angela (Jim) Dial, his sons Rodney (Dana) Estep, and Christopher Estep. His grandson, Justin (Courtney) Dial, grand daughter McKenna Jo Estep, great granddaughter Olivia Grace Dial, and great grandson Charlie Parker Dial.
Graveside Honors will take place Friday, March 20th at Noon at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Kentucky.
For those that wish to honor him, the family asks in lieu of flowers that you do so by offering an act of kindness to a veteran in need, perhaps out for a meal, a ride to a VA appointment, or spend some time visiting the home or hospital of those who have served our country.

It was more than a pleasure knowing you. From the moment we met you made me feel like family. Always ready for big hugs and lots of laughs. Seeing how much you loved and how loved you were is a beautiful thing. While our time was short, I am glad to have known you. Rest in peace. You will be missed.

Uncle Tommy, you were such a huge presence in our family over the more than 34 years. You’ve been there for many weddings, baby celebrations and family gatherings. Always the first to ask when we last ate a bite and to offer a drink. Especially your tasty peach brandy! 🙂 You always said that “it’ll cure what ails ya!†Logan and Kendall still talk about the breakfast you made with sausage patties, pancakes and fresh strawberries when we celebrated Easter down there when they were 5. While our times spent visiting were not as often as we would’ve liked, you absolutely left an amazing impression, showing all of us what a great loving giving selfless wonderful man you were. God blessed all of us on the day that he brought you and Aunt Brenda together. Peace and blessings, fly high Uncle Tommy!
