Constance Marie Casella was born December 4, 1941 to Carmela (Millie Penna) and Anthony Penna. She had a brother 8 years later, Anthony Penna, married to Diana Penna. Constance has a niece Christina and nephew Stephen. She was raised Catholic in Pelham Bay, The Bronx, New York. After graduating from Preston High School, she continued on to secretarial school, then went to work for the government. She specifically worked on a project she loved to talk about, the Atlas 1 Rocket.
She soon met Rocco A. Casella at a dance when she 25 years old and married him soon after on June 10, 1967. On June 7, 1969, Constance had a daughter, Andrea, married to Detlef Taylor. She also had a son, Jarett, born on January 29, 1980. Constance had two grandchildren, Alyssa and Dean. She loved to dance any chance she got. She also had a very strong faith in God and prayed often. Her mother taught her how to cook delicious Italian food and that was her specialty. Later in life, after Constance and Rocco divorced 17 years later, she went back to work as a secretary for an attorney part-time. Connie, as everyone called her, was also caring for her parents as they were needing her care more and more. She enjoyed baking, and every Christmas made her famous “Christmas butter cookies†to hand out to all the neighbors. She worked at Sears part-time, then soon got a job at Westchester Community College in the library where she worked for 10 years before retiring and moving down to Florida. She then worked for Dunedin Public Library for 15 years. She loved the library. At her 70th birthday party, her friends celebrated Connie and told stories of how hard she worked and how kind she was, and how she made them laugh. Connie was very funny. Connie loved her family. She was a loving person. If Connie was your friend she was your friend for life. Connie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
