Kennedy Powers-McMahon, Ann
Full of life and love, the best mother that ever lived (and we will have words with any who say otherwise), left this world June 5th, 2020. Ann loved deeply and generously. She will be remembered for her kind heart, but also for being the worst shotgun rider. Her first husband, Thomas Powers, the six children she taught to drive and finally her late husband, Jack McMahon, all shared that annoyingly special bond with Ann. Every camping trip up to the Adirondacks she would pepper our dad with sage advice such as ‘slow down’ and ‘remember you need more braking room with a trailer’. His responses were not as wise. It was always an adventure. It is the little things we are going to miss the most. The summer trips up to New York to spend time with her Northern family, the Thanksgiving feasts in Hollywood Beach with her Southern children, her willingness to tag along on any trip anywhere around the world, and her ability to drink beer like a sailor make us long for one more memory with Ann. She leaves behind her six children, Patricia (James) O’Connell, Mary (Richard Scott) Borcyk, Michael (Ellen) Powers, Katherine (George) Georgiou, Teresa Casey, Maureen (Michael) Keenan, numerous grandchildren, and a growing number of great grandchildren. A mass in her honor will be celebrated August 22, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 1107 Commercial Way, Spring Hill Florida. In lieu of flowers, please have a beer and toast to one of the great ones.
