October 30, 1962~July 20, 2020

Terry J. Medlock, 57, of Palm Harbor, FL unexpectedly departed this life on July 20, 2020 at his home. He was born in Albany, GA on October 30, 1962. He is survived by his life partner of 38 years, Kip Sharpley, father Ronald A. Medlock, Sr (Geneva), brother Ronald A. Medlock, Jr (Eva), sister Kathy Hanna (Calvin) and his “little brother” Scott Morris (Leslie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara E. Waid and brother, Tony H. Medlock.

Terry had an extensive family of friends whom he cherished dearly and his absence will leave a void in each of their hearts until they are joined again. His faith was foremost in his life and his passion and generosity were boundless; he had a life mission to lift up all those around him and he always saw beauty in the simple things in life. He loved roses and sunshine, interior design and nice cars, real estate and time at the beach, but mostly he cherished time spent in company of his partner and pets, Ripley and Summer, around whom he would say his world revolved. Terry taught all who would listen to appreciate the simple things, to embrace the quiet and appreciate the rain. He could never be found without a cold bottle of water and a warm smile but he was fiercely defensive of his loved ones. He was always quick to correct anyone whom he felt disrespectful and would regularly reflect on lessons learned from his grandmother Bishop whom he adored. We can all rejoice that he is now cradled in her loving arms along with his mother and brother but mostly we can all be thankful for the countless memories that we are left to cherish in his absence.

A public celebration of life will be held in the future as our universe safely permits but donations may be made in Terry's honor to suncoastanimalleague.org his favorite pet rescue.

“The most important thing in Life is your family. There are days you love them and others you don't. But, in the end, they're the people you come home to. Sometimes it's the family you're born into and sometimes it's the one you make for yourself.” Carrie Bradshaw

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breathe away.” Maya Angelou

Shocked and Saddened to hear of the loss of my Dear Friend Terry. I will miss your jokes and your sense of humor. You brought laughter, hope and joy back into my life, when I need it the most. Thank you Terry for being such a good friend, thank you for making sure I was fine everyday, either by text or by calling. Hours before God Called Terry home, he shared a beautiful photo of a floral arrangement he made that day, July 20.2020 , it's as if he knew. Kip thank you for loving Terry, he always expressed to me how happy he was to be a part of your life and how much he was looking forward to a happy retirement with you. Be strong my friend Kip, God be with you during this difficult journey.
