JJames Wayne Sonnier, age 72, died in Hudson, FL after a short illness with COVID-19 on November 27, 2020.

James “Wayne” was born December 5, 1947 in Hayes, LA to Alexon and Lilda Sonnier. He graduated from Bell City High School, LA. Wayne moved to Rochester as a young man.

He married Sharon Klein in 1969 and they had a son, Michael. They were later divorced.

In 1992 he married Lori Borgschatz and they made their home on Lake Zumbro where they raised Lori’s son, Rick Deyo.
Wayne belonged to Carpenter’s Local Union 1382. He retired in 2005. During his retirement, he had many adventures with his wife Lori which included camping, driving his Corvette and meeting new friends in Florida. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Zumbro and in the Gulf of Mexico. Wayne was known for his cooking talents and shared theseis special treats with family and friends. Wayne was adored by his grandchildren and they were very special to him.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lori and sons Mike and (Joanne) Sonnier and Rick and (Jenny) Deyo. Grandchildren are Jesse, Ashley, and Kai Sonnier and, Alexis, Autumn and Anden Deyo. Wayne is survived by one brother Alexon Sonnier, Jr.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

There will be a celebration of life in Minnesota in the Sspring/Ssummer 2021.
