Vernon M. June, known as “Digger” and “Hop” to his friends and family, passed away on Sunday December 6th, 2020. He was born and raised in Stony Point, NY and was a resident of River Vale, NJ and most recently Holiday, FL. He was 73.

He most looked forward to his time with his wife Peggy, children Jennifer, Michael and Matthew and grandson’s Joey and Cooper. Vernon loved all thing’s sports, especially the NY Yankees, he enjoyed his time with Uncle Bill and telling stories over a few beers. He was known as a kind, caring man with quirky sense of humor. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and friends and family unconditionally and was always there to help them in any way he could.

Vernon is survived by his wife Margaret (Peggy Funcheon), his daughter Jennifer June (Paul Muller) his sons Michael (Jess Klein) and Matthew (Christy Bates), and his grandsons Joseph Valente and Cooper Funcheon. He is also survived by his siblings Rita Feeney, Glenn June (Ginger), and Lynne Helchowski (John). He will also be lovingly remembered by his best friend and brother in-law Uncle Bill (Funcheon) as well his in-laws John Funcheon, Thomas Funcheon( MJ) , and Phillip Funcheon (Donna). He leaves behind several nieces and nephews Deirdra Funcheon, Bill Funcheon( Sue) , Eddie Funcheon, Suzanne Sparta (Anthony), Kelly June( Gary), Chris June, Lori Feeney, Michael Feeney (Kerry), John Helchowski (JeniLyn), Melissa Kolarik( Phillip), Donna Funcheon, Katie Funcheon, Joseph Helchowski (Jackee), Devin Funcheon, Jacqueline Helchowski (Charlie Miller), Kara Funcheon, Phillip Funcheon, Kylie Funcheon, Jenna Funcheon( Philip Lambert), and JP Funcheon, 25 great nieces and nephews and special friends Cortney, Britney and David Muller.

Meeting him at the eternal after party will be his parents Vernon and Veronica June, his mother and father-in-law Edward and Muriel Funcheon, sister’s in-law Alexa Funcheon and Muriel Funcheon, brother’s-in-law Owen Feeney, Eddie Funcheon, James Funcheon, Paul Funcheon and his nephew and godson Kevin Feeney.
