Andrew Pilch Jr. “Andy†71 of Weeki Wachee entered rest on February 8th, 2021. Andy was born on December 9th, 1949 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania the son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Skoronski) Pilch Sr.
He is survived by his wife Gerri Burgio – Pilch of Weeki Wachee, daughters Andrea and her children, Lisa and her Husband Charles Belles and her children Cody and Dalton, stepdaughter Melissa and her husband Daniel Vazquez and their children, 2 sisters Barbara and her husband Gerald Myzich, Roasemarie Pilch and 1 brother David Pilch.
Andrew was a strong, patient, determined man, He referred to his adoptive home of Florida as, “My Paradise.†He was a collector of many things, model cars, baseball cards, and music. He even owned a small record store at one point in his life. Music was the light of his heart, second only to his adoration for his loving wife Gerri. Andy possessed a strong faith in God, and he read the Bible often. He would love to reminisce about the old days, and he would enjoy sharing stories about his children growing up and his high school football days. He loved his sweets. He would eat less dinner just to have some more room for pastries. Although life pestered him with more than his share of physical maladies, he had the patience of Jobe, and he was never one to sit around and feel sorry for himself. He enjoyed traveling, and he was always on the go. Andy loved his animals and he would often be seen going for a “walk†with his beloved dog Panda, as the dog would sit on Andy’s lap as Andy rode his motorized scooter to the store. Andy had a keen interest in history and sharing what he had learned. He was a charismatic, stalwart man, who many people looked to for advice, and he was always willing to offer his guidance. Andy’s wisdom will be dearly missed by all of us who knew him well.
Family and friends may gather at Dobies Funeral Home 8825 Old County Road 54 on Thursday February 11th, 2021 from 9:45 A.M. till 10:45 A.M. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
