Lawrence George Cooper, 74 of New Port Richey entered into rest on February 16, 2021. He was born on September 26, 1946 in Schenectady, NY the son of the late James B. and Dorothy (William) Cooper. Larry was a proud and dedicated Marine serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a former Law Enforcement Officer, Coach and an avid Harley Rider.
“Papa” Larry was loved by all he left an everlasting imprint on so many lives. He was a man who was ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. However he wasn’t a pushover either. If you borrowed you were expected to repay. He believed in tough love as long as you didn’t lie or steal he always had your back. He believed in second chances but the third strike you were out.
He is survived by his loving wife Virginia “Ginny” Cooper, 2 children Eric Cooper and Lyndsey Cooper, 5 step children, brother James Cooper Jr., sister Kathleen Coffee, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Friends may gather at the Dobies Funeral Home 9944 Hudson Ave. Hudson, FL. on Monday March 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM.
Graveside services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. at 1:30 PM.

Ginny and family, We are
so very sorry to hear of
your loss of Larry. So
many years, you took care of each other with much love. We know that your heart aches, as ours do for you. We pray for the day when
your memories bring a
smile, as the tears lessen. It was good to talk to you, though we
sure were sorry for the
reason. I heard recently that the raw
pain lessens with time
but the miss remains.
Hang on to the love you shared and know that our time here is short.
Eternity never ends.
