Leonora “Lee” Degatano, a Sweet Soul, went home to heaven on May 14, 2020, at age 94.
Leonora was born to Maria Reina Malta and John Malta on January 13, 1926, in Elizabeth, NJ as the youngest of eight.
Leonora met her husband, Anthony Degatano, on December 4, 1942, at the Dreamland Roller Skating Arena in Newark, NJ. They were engaged on February 14, 1944, and married on March 3, 1945. Their two children were raised in the same house where Leonora was born. Leonora worked ten years as a Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Lab Inspector. Then in 1980 moved to Holiday, Florida with her husband where she enjoyed making new friends, playing the organ, and volunteering with the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary at St. Vincent DePaul Church.
