It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Kenny of Palm Harbor, Florida, who passed away on May 16, 2021, at the age of 43. Michael is survived by his wife Tamara Carlson-Kenny; his son Liam Kenny; his parents, Denis and Helena Kenny; and his brother Joseph Kenny. He was also cherished by two nieces and two nephews.
Michael grew up in Tarpon Springs, attended Tarpon Springs High School, the University of South Florida, and graduated Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law. Upon receiving his law degree, Michael was also the recipient of the prestigious Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award.
As a member of Stetson University’s Mock Trial Team, Michael honed his advocacy skills while excelling academically. His success in school led to a clerkship at the Florida State Supreme Court.
Michael was a truly gifted advocate. As an Assistant State Attorney in the 6th Circuit, he prosecuted crimes on behalf of the people of Pinellas and Pasco Counties. Over the last 12 years, Michael took his career to new heights as an attorney, and subsequent partner at Bauer, Crider & Kenny. Mike was always a gentleman but was also a fierce advocate in the courtroom.
He was a devoted husband and father, a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend.
Mike had a personal relationship with Jesus that he nurtured as a child and that stayed with him all of the days of his life.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Homes (701 E Tarpon Ave, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 24th, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the St. Ignatius of Antioch Roman Catholic Church (715 E Orange St, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689).

My sincerest condolences to the entire Kenny family for the recent passing of Michael… May he rest on the Infinitely Loving and Merciful Heart of Jesus, until we are all reunited in the Heavenly Kingdom… and may Our Mother of Sorrows comfort you all through this Cross, wipe all of your tears, and whisper words of consolation and hope into your souls. My sincerest condolences to his loved ones. Mike was a great man who will be missed. He was an outstanding attorney who showed compassion and restored faith in the legal system for his clients. He was a genuine kind hearted person. Thoughts and prayers for the tremendous loss of his passing.

My deepest condolences and sorrow for your loss. I met Michael as he was my son’s attorney several years back. He was the kindest most compassionate man. He gave me his personal cell phone and always answered. If he couldn’t answer he always returned my call. He knew I was a mama bear protecting her cub. He was voracious in the courtroom. His passion and dedication to his client was evident. He was an excellent attorney and i was honored to know such a great man. I was so sad to recently hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers to his wife, son, mom, dad and entire family and friends. He will truly be missed by so many but never forgotten by all the people he has helped throughout his career and in life.
