Delores Eller
Delores “Cricket” Eller went to be with our Lord on 6/17/2021. She was a devout Christian who leaves behind a loving family. Son Bobby E. Freeman and Bette Falbe. Son William Michael “Mike” and Jennifer Freeman. Grandchildren Chelsey (Freeman) Visic and William Michael Freeman, Jr. Sister and Brother-in-law Ruby and Bob Burris. Nephews Bobby Burris, Jr., Kenneth Relyea, Scott Massengill, and niece Nancy Burris.
Delores was born in Lake City, Tennessee, near the Great Smoky Mountains which she reflected on throughout her life as one of her favorite places to be. She married at a young age, foregoing a promising education. She was an outstanding student as evidenced by her having advanced a grade in her youth. Delores had an affinity for writing and spent her entire life writing poems and books, with several receiving recognition by publishing companies. However, Delores’ calling was as a single mother to her two boys. She was a staple at little league fields, high school stadiums, and gymnasiums in New Port Richey throughout the 70’s and 80’s as she raised Bobby and Mike. She worked as a waitress initially upon moving to Florida in the early 1960’s, but soon took a position as a teller at Ellis First National Bank. Delores was an outstanding employee and had ample opportunities to advance, but she refused them all in order to be home with her boys after school. Once her boys had grown, she accepted a few of the offers within the banking industry, ultimately reaching the level of a Vice-President of Lending. Upon retirement from Bank of America in 2004, she dedicated her time to her two grandchildren Chelsey and Michael. When Delores wasn’t with her family, she was most happy reading and gardening. Delores will be remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and warmth. Delores was quick with a smile and easily generous. Her children and grandchildren will remember her as the foundation of the family, the proverbial matriarch, and the shining example of the type of person they aspire to be.
