Dawn Marie Knowles (Courtney) 49, of Holiday, FL; formerly of Grand Island, NY, loving wife of Michael; loving mother of Christopher and Allen; dearest daughter of Gary and Carlene (Schweitzer) Courtney; dear sister of Michele Wasson (Courtney) and Gary (Courtney) Courtney.
She had a passion for teaching for the past 18 years. Her work with her kids reached beyond the classroom. Her “babies†as she called them were molded and guided from their first day of kindergarten until their high school graduations, which she always attended. She loved working with her team and staff at Richey Elementary, she felt they were a wonderful group of people who worked very hard every day to make a difference in the lives of children. Her smile and love for life was contagious. She loved baking for her family, friends and co-workers and helping out in the community. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richey Elementary, Dawn Knowles Memorial Fund, 6850 Adams Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652 or to support the family, donations can be made in Dawn’s name to Suncoast Credit Union, Account# 0006114216-0001

I just heard the terrible news of Dawn’s passing and am sending all my love to the entire Courtney Family. Many wonderful memories of her babysitting me when I was little and other times our families spent together have come flooding back and my heart just aches. Her loss is deeply felt by many.
