I never met your dad; but he sounded like a remarkable man; in civilian and military life. He served our country as a navy seal, a true hero. Having worked at the Pentagon, I have a strong connection and respect for our military. My heart goes out to the whole family

Grandpa Carl, was a huge influence and inspiration to me growing up, and during my service. We spoke often, and I will miss his guidance and presence! Prayers for comfort and healing to the family and everyone whose life was touched by Frogman Carl.

Mr. Carl Ludwig was my best friend’s dad. I remember him as a quiet, sweet and kind man. My biggest memory of him was the swimming pool he made for his family. Being that my own dad was a carpenter, I certainly was impressed with Mr. Carl’s know how and skills. I was asking him all sorts of questions as he was hard at work. He was humble about his talents & that’s simply who he was. The last time I saw him, he did not change a bit. He was the same. Quiet and unassuming. What a great man. I love you Mr. Carl. You’re greatly missed & thank you for your service to our country. Rest In Peace, Dad.

Our hearts are so sad right now to have to say goodbye to such an awesome man. Uncle Carl was always a jokester with us growing up. I remember his laugh and smile. We have such good family memories of him growing up. In our adult years, he didn’t change with his sense of humor but he offered us wisdom and insight into life through the years. What a great man he was. Certainly will be missed by his family and friends. We send our love & prayers to all our cousins and Bonnie. Fly High Uncle Carl!!! Much Love!!!!

First thing in the morning we could count on seeing Carl riding his bike past our house. He always has a smile, a joke or a story to tell. He was a good man. Rest In Peace, Carl. We miss you every morning.

To Carl’s family and Bonnie,

I just heard about my ‘beach buddy’s’ passing. My heartfelt condolences to you all.
Carl was a good friend and great buddy. I will miss our morning beach talks, when
we solved ALL the problems of the world. You are missed.
