Armand married his high school sweetheart Roberta in February 1955. The newlyweds moved to occupied Germany while Armand served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. During their time in Munich, Armand established what is believed to be the first youth baseball league in the country. After returning stateside he pursued his love of educating youth as a teacher with the Board of Education City of New York. Throughout his career, Armand taught students from low-income communities in Manhattan and Queens. During the early phase of his career he managed baseball teams and coached basketball teams to the City Finals in his high school division three straight years. In the latter years of his career, Armand taught at PS 48 in Jamaica Queens. He was an expert in reading and successfully raised reading and math levels of his students.
Active in his home community of Garden City, NY, Armand volunteered with many organizations including serving as two-time Commander of the William Bradford Turner Post 265 of the American Legion and chairing the James N. MacLean Memorial Library at Hofstra University. During the 1970s-early 80s he also served on the parents’ committee of Boy Scout Troop #55, managed several Little League teams, kept score for the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection basketball teams, and was President of the Friends of Garden City High School Band leading the 1977 trip to London in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Silver Jubilee.
After moving to New Port Richey, Florida, Armand was active in numerous organizations in the Heritage Lake community, Trinity Lutheran Church, and American Legion Post 335. He also volunteered with various educational and veterans groups. In 2017 he was presented with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding and invaluable service to the community. A knowledgeable and well-regarded philatelist, Armand was a member of the Clearwater Stamp Club and American Philatelic Society. He wrote articles for philatelic publications.
Armand is survived by Roberta – his beloved wife of 67 years; sons Alan (Mary Beth) and Mark (Cindy); and grandchildren Alex, Hannah, Katie, and Michael; niece Diane Grancia, and godson David Gigler (Charlotte). He is preceded in death by his sister Marie (d’Isernia) and parents Pauline Trivilino and Armand L. Trivilini (New York City-based artist and member of the American Watercolor Society).
Armand was laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors. A celebration of Armand’s life will be scheduled in the future when friends and loved ones can safely gather. Until then, all are asked to follow the science, exercise healthy practices, and be kind to one another.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Trinity Lutheran Church (3100 Starkey Blvd., New Port Richey, FL 34655) or to an educational or nonprofit organization that you admire.

Armand was a second dad without knowing he was for me. An exceptional man that graced us with his presence. His wisdom and kindness were exemplary and made boys men. Girls women. Can’t speak to the female part of that statement, but I assume, what he did for me and others was not a gender specific trait.
He before his time. He is the person we need now to calm the tide.
He will be missed and always loved by those that had the privilege to cross paths with such a humble and generous human.
Blessings Armand!

Impressive life for an impressive man. True dedication to service to others, way above the norm. Truly heaven is a richer place now that Armand has been posted there to lead. Right man at the right time. How fortunate for true believers! What pride your family has been given. May we all follow Armand’s example of making the campsite better than we found it. God’s grace to the family. ~M.C.

Mark,
I’m so sorry to hear of your father’s passing. I never knew him, but his obituary tells me plenty about the man! In fact, what I could see is that he obviously passed along many of his wonderful qualities to you. You have a lot of your father in you, Mark, and I have no doubt he was very proud of his son!

Mr. Trivilino came to an inner city school and taught with dedication, and passion as if it was a prep school. His work at PS 48 left an impact on many students!
