Barbara Jean Vargo

May 25, 1940~October 14, 2021

On Thursday, October 14, 2021, Barbara Jean Vargo, loving wife, and mother, passed away.

Barbara was born on May 25, 1940, in Sault Sainte Marie, MI to Chester and Leah Duford. She grew up in Utica, MI, and married Michael Vargo on August 27, 1960. Together they raised two children Vikki and Jason.  Barbara and Michael retired to Marysville, MI where she enjoyed going to Canada to play Bingo and visit the casinos.  Barbara and Michael enjoyed many drives along the water throughout Marysville and Port Huron.  Their love for the water enticed them to “snowbird”, and ultimately move to, Holiday, FL.  There, Barbara and Michael were able to enjoy their scenic drives along the water from Tarpon Springs to Clearwater and spent hours sitting near the water at John’s Pass.

In recent days, she enjoyed being a part of her grandchildren (Brandon, Jonathon, Thomas, and Samantha) lives after moving to North Carolina.  Barbara (Nonee) is deeply loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.

A small service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Dobies Funeral Home, 4910 Bartelt Rd, Holiday, FL 34690, from 10-11 am. An 11:00 am service will be held prior to traveling to the Florida National Cemetery where she will join her husband, Michael.

To my oldest and dearest friend ❤️. I just know you are wrapped in the arms of God and Mike. I have known you for over 40 years and we sure have had some fun times. Bingo and the casino in Canada. Brings back great memories. You are gone but never will be forgotten. I love you my sister from another mother. I will see you again.

To the very dearest friend I have ever met and sorry to find out her passing only now. I tried so many times to get ahold of her only to have a phone disconnect
Thank goodness I was able to have others looking for me
Barb was one of those people who was always so pleasant and happy with a heart of gold. She Will be missed so much, but I know that Mike will be waiting for his sweetheart. Loved her dearly
