Fidel Aguilar “Pancho” of New Port Richey, Florida, age 82 Formerly of Durand, Michigan was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Sadly we lost Fidel on February 19th, 2022.
Fidel Journeyed to Michigan as a young teenager where he met his soon to be wife Winnie in Flint, Michigan. Fidel worked in the sugar beet fields of Saginaw and went on to be a big boy restaurant cook, from there he started his apprenticeship as a painter, on completion of his apprenticeship he became a professional Journeyman painter. He was in the Painters Local 1052 in Flint, Michigan. He worked for numerous companies because of his fearlessness of heights, skill and strength Genesee Paint of Flint was the company he worked for most of his career. That’s where his fellow workers named him “Pancho”. He worked on and painted Water Towers and Radio Towers, some 600 feet high, he rigged bosun chairs and swing stages on high rises throughout Michigan and made them safer for others. He loved watching old westerns all his life, Salmon fishing with his sons and spending time with his family. Fidel was 1 of 10 children and leaves 9 of his own 10 to share his memory with.
Fidel was preceded in death by his mother Lorenza Canalas and his father Fidel Aguilar and his son George. He leave his loving wife Winnie, his children Windel of Maui, Hawaii, Lorenza of Tennessee, James of Virginia, Fidel of Tennessee, Linda (Scott) Higgins of Tennessee; Arthur of Florida, Lisa of Texas, Thomas of Georgia, Lana of Georgia. Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews.

I walked in your house yesterday, and I didn’t hear that old old familiar ‘Hallo” that only us close to him would remember Him saying when he greeted you at the door, and then it hit me!!( The strongest, smartest man, I knew, was now gone!?! and now “I” would be forced to live without you, MY Dad?? Dear Aunt Winnie and family I so sorry for your loss. The last time I saw and spoke to him was at my Moms funeral. I spoke to him In Spanish and he looked at me and said you speak Spanish? I said yes and you speak English. I can say we laughed together about that. RIP Uncle Fidel🙏🏽
