Mary (Naomi) Cruz passed away in her home on March 8th, 2022 at the age of 92. Mary, a devout Catholic was born in Brooklyn, New York. Sadly she spent her first 18 years of life in orphanages and fosters homes. But once out, Mary thrived. She met her Husband, Fermin Cruz, who is also deceased. Together they built a life first in Far Rockaway, New York then settling on Staten Island for a stint before retiring to Florida. Mary was a proud participant in many functions thoughout her life,, which included St. Peter’s PTA, voter registration drives, crime patrol, as well as working at Hoffriz in Manhattan. Mary had many friends who loved her quick wit and keen sense of humor. She was always in fashion and loved to dress up, even if just going out to get the mail. Mary loved to cook, especially Spanish Cuisine. Mary and Fermin are survived by their six children. Linda Miraglia, David Cruz, Danny Cruz, Fermin Cruz Jr. Renald Cruz (deceased) and Mona Cruz LaPiedra. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren & 21 Great Grandchildren. Our mother has always taught us kindness and to look out for those who are less fortunate. Her love for her children was her greatest pleasure. She was the last of her amazing generation. She will be missed today, tomorrow and forever. Losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart will ever know.

I first have to say how sad I am at the loss of your beautiful Momma!
I met Mary and Mona together about 7 or 8 years ago! Mary was the sweetest lady, always kind and funny! She always looked beautiful! I loved running into her at the store and some musical events! I know she adored her children grands and great-grands. Always with a smile and I always got a warm hug! Rest In heavenly peace my friend. I will miss your warm hugs and your sweet presence 💞💫🦋💐. My deepest condolences to the family ✌️
