Eileen Mary Smith, 82, who resided in New Port Richey, Florida, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2022. She was born to Ralph and Estelle Smith on May 1, 1939, in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science degree and worked as a laboratory technician.

Eileen was a devout Christian woman. She served as a nun in the Order of Carmel (Cloister), where she devoted herself to prayer and contemplation. In the 1970’s she co-founded True Vine Prayer Group in Staten Island, NY, with Audrey and Joseph Giles. It grew to become True Vine Christian Fellowship Church where she served as assistant pastor. The ministry’s mission was based on Psalms 96, “Sing to the Lord and praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” They ministered in song and fellowship to prisons, nursing homes, The Bowery Mission, Teen Challenge, and numerous organizations. The church continues to serve the community today.

Thereafter, she moved to Minnesota to continue her mission with the Ben Israel Fellowship before retiring in Tarpon Springs, Florida with her late sister and brother-in-law, Patricia, and John Bozzone.

Eileen will be remembered as a kind woman of deep devotion, generosity, and faith. She loved classical music and unique food. She is survived by nephews Stephen and David Bozzone; and niece Stephanie Guerra. Fond holiday memories of gingerbread houses, fruit cake, and preparing special side dishes and desserts will remain holiday traditions in their homes. Although she will be greatly missed, anticipation awaits the glorious day when they will all be reunited in the presence of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “We love you Auntie!”

A memorial will be held on her birthday, May 1, 2022 by True Vine Christian Fellowship Church.
