We say Goodbye to a loving and strong mother, cherished wife, beloved sister and daughter, and finally a tremendous and sparkling talent.
Cherie Renee Willoughby was born July 2, 1955, in Winter Haven, Florida, to Virginia and James Willoughby. She grew up with her 3 siblings Rhonda, Chesley “Rick”, and Robyn throughout Florida, finally making roots in Miami, FL.
She eventually married Bobby Gene Kittrell and produced their only child Robert. After separating, Renee devoted her entire life to raising her son and providing for him the best environment possible while pursuing her career and future.
Eventually, she found and married Ron Soergel and together they met the world with wild adventure. Time and life moved on but the three of them would share their lives together, never being far from the others’ side. She is mourned by her entire collection of family and friends. She is survived by her son Robert, her sisters Rhonda and Robyn, her extraordinary mother Virginia “Ruth”, and her recently reunited and remarried husband, Ron. When asked about the remarriage after such a long hiatus she remarked simply, “It’s putting the brick back in the wall.”
Cherie Renee Willoughby Soergel was a force of nature that attacked everything in this life with excitement and sometimes reckless abandon. She left this stage the way she strutted across it: on her terms. The “hole” she left behind cannot be filled. She has transcended the ills of this world and now roams free. Do great things, momma!!
We have selected a charity for those of you who would like to contribute in her memory. She loved bats and we consider this a fulfillment of a long-time wish of hers. Feel free to contact myself to collect a singular donation or to make a memorial donation yourselves, see the link below. Please be sure to acknowledge your contribution is a memorial donation for Cherie Renee Willoughby. I would like to make my donation at the end of June to give everyone time to respond if needed.

Thanks and love to all!!

Nae Nae, I can not convey in words the impact you had on my life and my heart, but I do not need to, you know already. I am saddened that my journey has lost such an incredible human being who colored my world with such creativity, laughter, and mischief. Your physical presence is missed, but as we say this is not Goodbye, this is see you later. Light up that side girl, I cant wait to see what you have done!! Love you.
