Alastair C. Perry

April 03, 1934~January 15, 2022
Alastair C. Perry (87) passed peacefully on January 15, 2022, under the loving care of Accent Continuing Care hospice center in Dunedin, Florida. Predeceased by the love of his life, Christine Perry, “Pops” is survived by his son, Alasdair “Andy” Perry (Melissa); sister, Ellis Anderson (Jim); several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews (both near and far); and beloved friends.
Born in Scotland in 1934, Alastair finished secondary school and two years of college before joining the Merchant Marines and traveling the world. He continued traveling throughout his career in the airline industry, where he met his love, Christine, and was able to bring his family to visit loved ones in England and Scotland, yearly, during Andy’s childhood and adolescence.
In 1984, Alastair and Christine moved into their home in Marlton, New Jersey, where they established lifelong friendships with their neighbors. In 1996, Alastair and Christine retired to the Tampa, Florida, area.
Alastair leaves a legacy of love that transcends all else. Andy remembers his parents promoting and living a life of love and acceptance. The Perrys surrounded their family with friends from many walks of life, various lifestyles, and countless cultures. Mr. & Mrs. Perry were also “surrogate parents” to several of Andy’s friends and acquaintances, and they opened their home to anyone in need of food, shelter, and/or just a place to rest and reset.
Alastair will be remembered for his love, charm, strength, and, of course, his enduring Scottish accent.
