Albert Mahlon Strickland, 75, of New Port Richey, Fl. was called home to be with the Lord early on Friday July 10, 2020 while at home with his loving wife of 54 years.
He is survived By his wife Joyce Bronson- Strickland and daughters Cindi Strickland-Morecraft (Jay) and Amy Strickland-Hughes (Keith) along with his four grandchildren, Daric & Jake Morecraft & Katie & Dylan Oestricher. He was preceded in death by his parents Ira (Strick)Strickland & Laconie Billingsly-Strickland, his brother Lee Strickland, and his daughter Malinda Gale (Mindy) Strickland-Oestricher.
Born in Thomasville Georgia in 1944, his family eventually moved to Jacksonville FL where he became a Cub Scout, an Eagle Scout, and served six years in the Air Force National Guard. He began working with his father in the air conditioning and sheet metal businesses which afforded him a wealth of knowledge in both of those lines of work amongst others throughout his life. He was an extremely hard worker and was not afraid to take on multiple jobs to provide for his family.
His love of gardening prompted him to open a hot pepper growing business called Cripple Creek Growers🌶 in 1999. In Feb. 2005 he began working at B&B Custom Sheet Metal, a division of Arry’s Roofing, up until the end of 2019. AL absolutely loved his work & the people he worked with, the owners & employees there became a true extension of his family. AL enjoyed being outdoors, boating, fishing, hunting and gardening🌼. He always had the most beautiful organic vegetable garden and a green thumb for any plant he touched. He was a family man with lots of love to give to his wife, daughters, their families and his extended family & friends. He left his mark on this world by leaving it a better place than he found it, A truly amazing and unforgettable man! He “did it his wayâ€, and will be surely missedâ¤ï¸
