Alice E. Harman, 94, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away an September 8, 2023. She is survived by her children Adell Doscher, Adrienne Leifsen, Andrew Harman, and April Leonar; as well as five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Alice was born in Glen Cove, N.Y. and grew up in Hampton Bays, N.Y. She raised her family in Levittown N.Y. and later retired to Florida with her husband Arthur. Alice was an avid crafter and was seldom seen without some sort of needlework in hand. She embroidered, sewed, quilted, and did plastic canvas crafts, but her true love was crocheting. She made prayer shawls, chemo caps, and Sojourn bears for those in need, as well as baby blankets for the NICU at All Children’s Hospital in Saint Petersburg. Alice loved gardening and was fond of the many Crepe Myrtle trees she grew from little seedlings. Some of Alice’s favorite flowers were Roses and Morning Glories. Alice was a Girl Scout Leader, and a lifetime member of the Masonic Order of Eastern Star as well as Amaranth. Alice’s favorite saying was “Enjoy life while you can.” Alice lived a full life. She will be missed.

Alice was like another Mom to me. She gave me guidance as a new Mom and I enjoyed the time we shared together. Her smiles, hugs and talks on the phone and her letters will be very sadly missed. She’s the kind of Mother-In-Law every woman should hope to have. XOXO
Love, Theresa E. Harman

Grandma was such an amazing grandma. I have so many memories of sitting in the bedroom when I was little listening to tapes, staying the night, grandma making my dress for my moms wedding, watching Disney movies.. all the way to grandma being at my wedding and having pizza at her house. I will always miss her, but I am so grateful for the times spent together that I will forever cherish. Those times were some of the best days of my life.
