Almando Burgos

Almando Burgos

June 17, 1972~November 01, 2022
It is with profound sadness that the family of Almando Burgos announces his sudden and unexpected passing on November 1, 2022, at the age of 50.
Almando, affectionately known as “Mondy” or Tony”, was born on June 17th, 1972, to Juan Alberto Burgos Sr. and Felicita Burgos in Wilmington, Delaware.  Almando was a valued employee of Midway services where he was the top HVAC salesman. In his spare time, he was the Philadelphia Eagles’ number one fan who dedicated his Sundays to talking “trash” while rooting for his team. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of being a father.  He always lit up when speaking of his children’s milestones and accomplishments, which meant the world to him.
Mondy will always be remembered for all the laughter he brought into our lives.  His witty and sarcastic sense of humor was second to none. He too had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and important and he was often described as the life of the party. It is for this reason that family and friends eagerly awaited his loud grand entrance to any gathering, as they all knew a good time was always guaranteed to follow.
Mondy is survived by three children Rebekah L. Burgos of Tampa, Florida, Antonio M. Burgos of Tampa, Florida, and Sarah C. Burgos of Cape May, New Jersey; grandchildren Ulysses, Cynthia, and Geremiah; his mother Felicita Perez-Burgos of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico; brother Juan (Tania) Alberto Burgos Jr. of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; four sisters Carmelita (Marcus) Thompson of Wilmington, Delaware, Johanna (Keenan) Garcia of Clearwater, Florida, Mari (Derrick) Gordon of Middletown, Diana Burgos of Wilmington, Delaware; step-brother Julio Burgos Jr.; two step-sisters Lisa Burgos and Jeanine (Stuart) Burgos-Nelson  all of Wilmington, Delaware;  as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Juan Alberto Burgos Sr., and step-father Julio Burgos.
