Anne Marie Brady

February 19, 1935~February 05, 2025

Anne Marie (Foster) Brady peacefully passed away on Wed. February 5th, 2025 surrounded by her devoted, loving husband of 66 years, John A. Brady.  Marie, as she was called, was the daughter of Anne Marie (Kadish) Foster and Howard Joseph Foster of Brockton, Mass.  She was a kind, funny, loyal Mom to Kelly Ann (Brady) Wescott of North Carolina, James Brady (deceased) of Buzzards Bay, Mass, Kate Marie (Brady) Sorsby of Tamps, Florida, Karen Lee (Brady) Pastore, of New Port Richey, Florida and Julie Brady of Jamacia Plain, Mass.

Marie was born in Brocton, Mass on February 19, 1935. She attended Brockton High School graduating with the class of 1952. She then went to work at Washburn Candy Company, rising to become the secretary to the Vice President.  In December of 1958 Marie married her sweetheart John Arthur Brady, also of Brockton. They lived in the Southern California area for approximately ona and a half years before returning to Brockton to raise their growing family. In 1968 the Brady’s bought a house on Cape Cod wanting to raise their children near the beach where they had spent so much time themselves.

Marie earned her Real Estate License and worked with her father in Indian Mound Beach, Buzzards Bay where they resided. She spent many summers renting cottages to the “city people”.  She spent countless hours on the beach with her brood, which now numbered five.  Marie was also a volunteer with the Democratic party and worked the polls at many election, both local and federal. She then went on to become a school secretary at the West Wareham School, loving countless children there.  Our wonderful Mom also transported all of us to various sports, scouts, cheerleading, horseback riding lessons and more throughout the years. She was very active socially, loved cooking (a lot) traveling and entertaining, hosting many, many parties and barbecues at their beachside home.

Heading into retirement, Marie/Mimi welcomed seven grandchildren into the fold.  Tara Marie Wescott, Traci Lynn (Wescott) Blackshear, Patrick Brady, Sara Brady, Justine sorsby, Billy Sorsby and Annmarie Pastore. Eventually four great-grandchildren followed, Kristen McLamb, Torri Blackshear, Travis Blackshear and Brooklyn Isner. Marie adored them all.

After retirement, the couple moved first to Holiday, Fla. then nearby to New Port Richey, Fla.  Marie and Jack became active in their neighborhood club activities, attending lots of dinners and parties.  Swimming, a lifelong passion, became a daily delight. She continued to plan lovely trips around the world, seeing the sights in The Greek Isles, Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, Iceland, most of the Caribbean and Mexico, Ireland, Alaska, Canada and many places in the United States.

Mom also wrote many articles about growing up in Brockton for the Brockton Enterprise and newspapers in New Port Richey.  She will be missed terribly by all who loved her.
