Antonio Drago, age 69, of Lutz, Fla. died Monday October 4, 2021 at the Medical Center of Trinity, New Port Richey. He was born January 18, 1952 in Italy son of the late Francesco and Delfina (nee Serpe) Drago.
As a young boy of five Antonio emigrated from Italy to Canada. In 1968 he immigrated to the United States and settled in Chicago. There he worked tirelessly in the bakery business and this became his career all the way into management. Antonio was married to his loving wife Carmela (nee Barabba) Drago for 46 years. In 1990, following his retirement, they made their way to Florida where he enjoyed fishing and boating. Above all things Antonio loved his family most of all.
Mr. Drago is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carmela; his daughter Anna D. (Robert) Moses, son Frank (Nicole) Drago all of Lutz; five grandsons, Evan and Aaron Moses, Luca, Christian, and Jonah Drago; three brothers, Frank (Rosa) Drago of Canada, John Drago of Taropn Springs and Frank (Dana) Drago of Poplar Grove, Illinois.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 7, 2021 at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Ignatius of Antioch in Tarpon Springs. Fr. Joseph Paek, OSB will preside. Entombment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clearwater. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Dobies Funeral Home Tarpon Springs Chapel.
