Barry E. Trainor, 63, of Hudson, Florida, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday April 30, 2020 at 6:01 p.m. in Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center with his companion by his side. (2 Cor 5:6-8)
Barry is survived by: companion of 8 years, Cathy Kessler; sister Evelyn Rineer (Sam); sister-in-law Joanne Trainor; and nephews Robert M., Brian J., and Brandon.
He was predeceased by (parents) Robert F. and Jeanet L. (Rivers) Trainor and (brothers) Robert P. and Brian R. Trainor.
Barry was involved in the printing industry for approximately 30 years in various positions, including Assistant Plant Manager for Star Forms and Plant Manager for Starcom Paperworks. He was a member of the Master Printers of America (a journeyman). After going through a number of corporate buyouts and plant closures, he made the decision to leave the printing industry.
He studied to become a certified computer technician (Comstar Services), and being a literary enthusiast, he also opened his own independent bookstore, The Olde Hickory Book Rack, where his precious dog Topaz greeted customers.
Barry fulfilled his dream of moving to Florida in 2016 after retirement. He loved living in “paradise,†where he found contentment and peace in nature, always taking the time to appreciate the beauty of a butterfly, hummingbird, dragonfly, sandhill crane, hibiscus, passion flower…
Barry is now listening to some pleasant bluegrass (riding that “Northern Railâ€) and is still answering Jeopardy questions. His kind, calm presence will be dearly missed by his “Sweetheart,†Cathy.
Memorial donations may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (https://BestFriends.org/).
