Bev was born on January 5, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio, to Leo and Harriet Ann Owens. Bev married James G. Meek on September 12, 1953 in Youngstown. Their family later relocated to Cockeysville, Maryland, then Bev and Jim retired to Dunedin, Florida. Bev was predeceased by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by daughters Betsy of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Mary Kay (whom Bev called “daughter of my heart”) of Tarpon Springs, and Kathryn of Gaultier, Mississippi. She leaves two granddaughters Lindsay, and Dayna (Olivia Joy); one very precious great-grandson Lucas James; and her beloved rescue companion kitty Mimi-June.

Bev lived a long, happy and healthy life. After a short illness, she left this world with Betsy and Mary Kay by her side at the Brookside Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, Bev wished to have donations made to St. Francis Society Animal Rescue, where she adopted Mimi-June, and from where two of her three granddogs were adopted.
