Bonnie passed to be with her savior the, Lord Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of January 13, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Callender, her daughter Casandra Valdez, her sister Sandra Freedman, her brother Frank Hickey, her sister in laws Lynne Letzring and Janice Batson. Additionally six nieces, two nephews, nine grand nephews, five grand nieces, and one de-feralized fur baby Carmy the cat. Bonnie had many pets over her life. With the exception of one , all just showed up and moved in. Everyone who knew Bonnie loved her. She was a true people person. Bonnie had a very interesting work history. She is a USAF veteran. Bonnie began that journey as an F-16 electrical systems specialist. She worked for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard as a marine electrician. Bonnie met her husband to be while she was temporarily assigned work on the USS Saratoga at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Later, she moved to Mayport FL to be with her future husband. While there she worked for a civilian shipyard and used her aviation electrical skills to upgrade two US Navy Pegasus class hydrofoil control systems. Moved to subase New London CT and worked at the USCG Academy in facilities maintenance. She left that job and started a successful house cleaning business later selling it before moving back to FL. She moved to Harpersferry WV and took a job as a Canon color copier technician, government division , often working at the pentagon. Watching her nephew, Brandyn, for a week she took him to work. She was at the pentagon lunchroom and asked this guy to watch Brandyn for a few minutes so she could get some parts from her car. He agreed. Turns out that guy was Colin Powell. She recognized him later on TV. Imagine that, asking the Chairman of the joint Chiefs of Staff to watch over your nephew for a few minutes. He was a down to earth really cool guy.

Her smile was infectious and her giggle made you smile ear to ear. Mrs Bonnie was the absolute best! Even when she wasn’t feeling like herself she gave it her all. I will miss her tremendously and also laughing about how pudding is not part of a food group. She was and will always be my favorite patient 😇

Bonnie you are sorely missed and never can be replaced. Mary Pat will be waiting at Heaven’s gate to greet you I am sure of that. So very sorry that you had to leave us this soon but God has a plan for you and one day we will all be together again. Rest easy and I will always remember the good times we had together, the 4 of us and as I mentioned before you are truly missed.

Bonnie will be remembered as a fighter who loved her husband, animals, and getting her nails done- and not necessarily in that order! It was an honor to play even some small part of her life, and she will be remembered fondly.

What a wonderful Obituary. Seems like she had a very full life and that is how it should be for all of us. I will always remember her that when I would call Sandy she would say it’s Bonnie with the boys/cupcakes, not my sister Bonnie, and vice versa when her sister would call. Love the tatoos you guys got not too long ago, representing the relationship that you had and always the fun. She will be missed fondly.
