Carmela K. Miceli, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 17, 1932, in East Orange, New Jersey, Carmela lived a full and faithful life rooted in love, family, and devotion. A lifelong Catholic and proud member of the Rosary Society, her faith was a guiding light throughout her years.
Carmela was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Madeline (Goglia) Belfiore, beloved husband, Dominick L. Miceli, and her brother, Joseph Belfiore Jr. She is survived by her devoted children: Louis R. Miceli (Amy), Gina R. Howe (David), Joseph A. Miceli (Marilynn), and Madeline J. Roepcke (Dwight). She was a loving and proud grandmother to Katherine M. Miceli (Ryan Devens), Elizabeth A. Miceli (Keith Boughrum), John A. Howe, Michael T. Howe (Kally), Lauren A. Garton (Jeremy), Deanna J. Longjohn (Nathaniel), and Mikayla R. Roepcke. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Xavier Theo, Emilia Lenore, and Logan Joseph.
Carmela’s life was filled with adventure and curiosity. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises. An accomplished knitter and avid reader, she always had a project or book nearby. Later in life, she kept her mind sharp and her spirit lively by playing along with Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune—often outpacing the contestants. She also enjoyed a savage family game of Uno.
She will be remembered for her strong faith, warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the generations she inspired.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the viewing on Friday, June 13, 2025, 7-9pm at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ 08820. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 14, 2025, 10am at St. Helena Roman Catholic Church, 950 Grove Avenue, Edison, NJ 08820, followed by her interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery and Mausoleum, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to Carmela’s heart.
