Carolyn Kay Davignon entered Heaven officially on March 16th, 2024, at 2:30 am. She was 77 years old. Her way too short time on this earth began on October 8th, 1946. She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 54 years, Robert R. Davignon; daughter Dominique D. Higginbotham (Frederick); son Neil S. Davignon (Pamela); grandchildren Nikolas (Kelsey), Arianna, Blake, Levi, and Micah; as well as four great-grandchildren Paisley, Lily, Daxton, and Lucian.
Carolyn leaves behind a beautiful legacy of being a faithful follower of Christ, leading her husband and family to do the same. Before the horrific disease of dementia took over her mind, she was an engaging, creative, light-hearted, humorous, lively, and spirited force to be reckoned with. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and woman of God who took great care of her family. She always had a song in her heart and often on her lips, singing and humming as she went through her daily activities. Her spiritual gift was mercy and she cared deeply for others, however if her family was messed with, she was a mama bear through and through. She was born and raised in Texas and never let anyone forget it. Her motto was ‘you can take a Texan out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texas out of the Texan.’ Even during the dark time of confusion and memory loss, she was mostly sweet, still very loving, and recognized us up until the very end. Carolyn will be immensely missed as we carry on, sadly without her, until we all meet again in our eternal home in Glory. Thank you for everything beloved wife, mother, and grandmother! It is not goodbye, it’s just see you later.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hope Ranch Learning Academy. It’s a truly amazing school for autistic students where Dominique has the privilege of working and Carolyn’s grandson, Micah, goes to school. Under donate please check the “In Memory Of” box and put in her name. We would very much appreciate that. Thank you.
