Charles Anthony Di Vita II, age 68 of Port Richey, Florida died Tuesday, May 6, 2025. After a difficult battle with an incredibly rare form salivary cancer; metastasized into Leptomeningeal disease. He passed peacefully with his wife and daughter holding his hand as he took his final breath.

He is survived by his soulmate and wife RaeLynn Di Vita, his daughters Kimberly Smith (Waymon), Kayla Witko (David) and his sons William Di Vita and Gregory Matous. He will forever live in the hearts of his six grandsons: Zeke (20), Josiah (10), Ezra (8), Carter (8), Corbyn (6) and Dawson (1).

Charlie (also known as “Butch” to the NYC crew) was retired from both D’Agostino’s and Frito Lay. He was passionate in giving back to his community, especially through the Citizens Service Unit (CSU) with the Pasco County Sheriff Dept. He was a fierce advocate for blood & organ donation and had plaques thanking him for his MANY gallons of blood donated.

He was devastated he could no longer be a donor once diagnosed with cancer. His wife and daughter discovered Moffitt’s Research Team and were able to fulfill his desire despite and arranged for the donation of 2 vital systems critical for research into curing this incredibly rare and extraordinarily aggressive form of cancer in his honor. In addition, they were able to successfully remove his corneas.  Because of his donation, two humans now have the gift of sight, which he himself lost through the cancer.

Charlie was an avid cruiser; a platinum card, Carnival Cruiseline loyalist who desired to be “buried at sea”. In lieu of a formal service the family has decided a planned cruise to spread his ashes at sea would be the perfect celebration of his life. The “Chuckster” would absolutely not want a somber affair, his personality was larger than life as should be his send off. The family will provide cruise details at a later date.
