Day is done. I never dreamed that I would look upon my sweet mother’s face in a casket, but I did. It was the hardest thing that I have ever done. I couldn’t give her face enough kisses goodbye. Her sweet spirit has risen up to Heaven to be with the rest of the family. I thank God that he has taken away her pain and suffering and given her a new life.
These are my final thoughts about my mom.
My mom was a poor coal miners daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a mother-in-law, an aunt, a cousin and a friend to all. She was a proud veteran, a talented artist and a hard worker. She was loving, kind, generous, wise and a fighter. She was so many things that I cannot list them all. My mother loved to help others. She was also fiercely independent. As a single mother she raised four children, myself Laura, Terry, Ricke, and Tony. She would do anything for her children. You could always depend on Mom for protection or help. Sometimes she wasn’t quite sure how to be a mother, but she figured it out and gave it her all. The thing that she loved the most was her family. She had 10 brothers and sisters; Bernie, Kennis, Sterlie, Jim , Bill, Ruby, Carrie, Anna, Iris, and Peggy. She dearly loved her mother, Laura and her father Spencer. My mother battled the world for my younger brother Tony who was born with many disability’s. She was a warrior woman. She was our very own Wonder Woman. I have left out so many important things about her, but we will always remember the happy times, the sad times, the silly times and the fun times. Mom was perfection in her own imperfect way. She was our beautiful, lovely, kind mom. And now she begins her new life.
Charlotte Hazel Mullins Peterson Nielsen. I love you momma ❤️💔
