Constantine “Gus” Kouremetis, 73, fell asleep on January 7, 2023.
Gus was born and raised in Tarpon Springs. He was the son of the late Manuel and Sevasti Kouremetis.
Gus was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Linda Marie Kouremetis. His life with Linda brought them to Columbus, Ohio and Tampa and eventually back to her hometown of Saint Augustine. He is survived by his brother Michael (Terri) and sister Niki Tanner, his daughters Kaitlyn, Taylor (Eli), and Jessica Bradley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Jean (Jim), Seva (Tim), Manoli (Adriénne), and Robby Tanner (Charlotte), and many beloved cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and grandchildren.
Gus was a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School, the University of Florida, and the University of South Florida. Gus worked in education, corrections, and retail, and in all these arenas he brought his vital gifts to everyone he worked with—his compassion, his humor, and his light. To those who knew and loved him, he will be remembered for his empathetic ear, his passion for the Gators and the Beatles, and a laugh that brightened any day. Gus had a zest for life that inspired everyone.
Faith was integral in Gus’s life. A devout Greek Orthodox parishioner, Gus was an active member of the Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Tarpon Springs. It is from his faith that Gus drew his strength and his compassion for others.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13 at 11:00 am and funeral services immediately following at 12:00 pm at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral (36 N. Pinellas Ave, Tarpon Springs 34689). Burial will be in Cycadia Cemetery (1021 E Tarpon Ave, Tarpon Springs, 34689).

Niki,
Again I am sadden by the news. When I told my brother Tony he said he had run into Gus on one of his trips down and said they had a nice visit. Take care. Mary Contos-Tucci

So sorry to hear about Gus. Had a chance to spend a lot of time with him at Johnny Kouremetis’s wedding. So glad I did. Gus and I shared a love for the Beatles, Gators and Muhammed Ali in high school. We were buds. May he rest in peace.
