Curtiss Sidney Malone,89, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on April 28th, 2023 at Trinity Hospital, New Port Richey. He was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida, on July 16th, 1933. He was the son of Burklin “Buck” and Ruth (Stewart) Malone. Curtiss graduated at Tarpon Springs High School in 1951 and following graduation, he served with the US Army during the Korean War. Curtiss was a member of the Moose Lodge & Elks Lodge during his early years.
He retired from Florida Power/ Progress Energy/ Duke Energy after 39 years as a special equipment operator. Curtiss was single for his first 42 years till he married the love of his life, Carol Neszery, and they celebrated 47 years of marriage in February this year.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Martha Malone & Dorothy Hook; as well as his grandson, Preston Asbel. In addition to his wife Carol, Curtiss is survived by his daughter Debra Asbel (James); son Robert B Griffis III; two granddaughters, Sara Jenkins (Jerreld) and Katja Boddenberg (Kevin); four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday May 6th at Dobie’s Funeral Home, 6616 Congress St, New Port Richey, Florida. Following the services will be a reception of food & drinks at the home of George Drew & Joanie Roberts, located on 7701 Mokena Ct, New Port Richey, FL 34654
