David B. Henderson Jr. 83 of Hudson, Fl. Passed on May 5, 2022. Born on February 17, 1939, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He immigrated to America in 1958 at nineteen years old. Served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.
Known as “Scotty” to many, he was a life member of Amityville Highland Pipe Band, where he played the tenor drum, bass drum, and bagpipes. In addition, he was a past member of the Gulf Coast Pipe Band and St. Andrews Pipe Band.
He retired from the Long Island Lighting Company in 1994, where he worked as a high voltage lineman. In his retirement, he learned how to drive an 18-wheeler.
Proceeded in death by his parents, David B. Henderson Sr. and Letitia S. (Smylie) Henderson, and his loving wife Joyce H. (Allison) Henderson. They were married for 53 years.
His three children survived him., John and Diane Henderson, Esopus N.Y., Alison and Christopher Zinno, New Port Richey Fl., Douglas and Sarah Henderson, Spring Hill Fl.
His seven grandchildren survive him., Daniel and Alicia Nevins, Andrew Henderson, Aileen Henderson, Sheena Burge, Danielle Burge, Braden Henderson, and Jeremy Ellsworth.
He is also survived by his six great-grandchildren, Lincoln Nevins, Kyler Young, Chloe Young, Caleb Young, Aidan Young, and Elizabeth Barber.
He will be fondly remembered for being a connoisseur of fine Scotch and a love of bagpipes.
