It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Denise K. Duca, 83, of Highland, Michigan, who passed away on May 9, 2025.
Denise will be fondly remembered for her generous spirit and the warmth she poured into her passions. An artist, crafter, ceramicist, and seamstress, her true affection lay in quilting; she lovingly gifted countless friends and family members with her handmade quilts and blankets, each a tangible expression of her love. Above all else, she was dedicated to helping others, leaving a positive impact on many lives. She cherished exploring local mom-and-pop restaurants, where she readily made new friends. Her zest for life extended to cruising and dancing, and she was deeply involved in her community. Memorable times included summers spent in Ipperwash Beach with her husband and children when they were young, and scenic trips to the Smoky Mountains. She found peace and connection spending time with her family at her house on White Lake.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Duca. She is survived by her children Brian (Serena) Duca, Heather Martin, Bradford Duca, and Michael (Selena) Duca; grandchildren Ryan, Andrew, Jeff (Sandra), Rachel (Mike) Muller, Timothy (Taylor) Martin, Dante, Julien, Lydia, Maria, and Ava; great-grandchildren Savanah, Ryder, Xander, Elijah, Eliana, Autumn, Owen, Noah, Seth, and Zachary; siblings Bryna (Fred) Adani; niece Grace Douglas; nephews Curtis Duca and Brent Adani; as well as beloved companion Denny Kuryliw.

With deepest sorrow to Heather, Brad and Mike there’s no words for this for us to express our loss. I know someday that what she meant to everyone and all the good memories and the way she experienced life Will push away the grief … But I know that Her and Dad will always be with us and our families…

She finished the race and is now celebrating in Heaven. Let’s celebrate her memory as she would have wanted us to do. There are too many childhood memories to list. Her creative talent was always present in the house on Selfridge.
Eternal rest grant unto Denise and let perpetual light shine upon her and may she rest in peace.
