Garcia (nee Lindstrom), Dolores C. 84, of New Port Richey, FL peacefully entered the gates of heaven on March 20, 2022, with her family by her side, to be reunited with her pre-deceased husband, Louis G. Garcia. Dolores is survived by sisters Carol King and Kay Jay; and brother Otto Lindstrom. Dolores had 5 children David, Douglas, Diana, Dorine, and Dana; 9 grandchildren Rochelle, Rachel, Erica, Melissa, Troy, Jessica, Emily, Jillian (pre-deceased), Bella; and 16 great-grandchildren Isabella, Dakota, Weston, Rosalyn, Olive, Marigold, Ruby, Andrew, Domnic, Reagan, Trenton, Savanna, Claire, Alexander, Louis, and Joshua. Dolores was born in Detroit, MI, and moved to Ohio when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Lakewood High School, where she was an accomplished student, a member of several clubs, and lead majorette. While being a caring mother and role model for her children, Dolores pursued her passion for barbershop music being a member and director of choruses and singing in several quartets, as well as serving in numerous Sweet Adeline Leadership roles. One of her many hobbies was sewing, she would frequently make matching outfits for her quartets. She would also make matching outfits for the whole family to wear when attending the annual FOP Picnic at Chippewa Lake Amusement Park. She had other hobbies that included driving around in her 1968 red Pontiac convertible, working with leaded glass, and molding chocolate. She worked for the Lakewood Board of Education. After moving to Hudson, Florida, she pursued her AS Degree at Pasco Hernando State College and worked as an Administrative Asst. for the Port Richey Police Department. Dolores always put her family’s needs above her own making sure no one did without. Her family grew up strong, due in part to her ongoing desire to make sure everyone was OK. Like her late husband, Louis, she never stopped trying to be a problem solver. She will be dearly missed, particularly in the area providing her own sage-like advice to any and all that would seek it.

I’m so sorry for you and your family’s loss and sorrow. She is pain free and at peace.
I know your mother is smiling somewhere, and singing joyfully with her family and friends as she watches over you and your family.

Delores and Lou- Two of the finest people that I ever had the privilege of knowing. It was a joy to be around either of them. Their passing has left a larger hole in my heart. Rest In Peace and enjoy each other again .

I was fortunate to be the tenor in the Remnants Quartet with best bass in the world, Dolores, while I lived in North Olmsted, Ohio. Those were great years with fabulous memories of many, many quartet practices in Dolores’ home with our kids up to who knows what. Their Christmas greetings were eagerly anticipated for years and I’m truly sorry we were unable to reunite in later years and ring a chord. Mary Phillips and I keep in contact and I was so sorry to learn of Dolores’s passing. My heartfelt sympathies to all. Helen Hanks (Burns)

Dear Garcia family,
I remember your mom’s smile and laughter. Of which she never seemed to stop. She was SO gifted and gave such joy. I loved watching the Sweet Adalines and was AMAZED at her sewing skills. I know she will continue to watch over you, be singing with God’s Angel’s, and loving up on your dad and Jillian. May your memories bring you peace.🙏💗

Dear Dana,
I’m glad I had the pleasure of meeting your mom, back when and I did her hair. Such a sweet lady. As Diane said the cycle of life is hard . Hard for those of us left behind. And somehow we keep ourselves going and then a new generation comes. 🥰

My best friend in the world Dolores. We met in Sweet Adelines about 1964. Best bass around. We were the Remnants.
Oh what great memories. I love the Garcia family and yes the annual Christmas card. That was a masterpiece. Be comforted by peace and love to the family while Dolores and Lou find each other again.
