Donald (Don) August Darville, 71, passed away on Sunday, July 6th, 2025 at his home in Port Richey, Florida.
Don was born December 21, 1953 in Tampa, Florida. Growing up his family moved several times between the Tampa area and California eventually ending up in Frenchtown Michigan where Don attended Jefferson High School and graduated with honors in 1972. After graduation, Don worked at several trades including roofing, construction, plumbing, and electrical. Don retired from Monsanto in Trenton, Michigan and then again from Hernando County Parks and Rec after moving back to his birthplace of Florida.
Don was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for God and his family. He was a devoted husband and a dedicated father. His presence brought light and joy to all who knew him, and his love knew no bounds. He was a jack of all trades and kept busy using his many skills to help family, friends and his community. Don served on his community HOA boards both in Michigan and Florida. He loved helping people and would volunteer to help on all kinds of projects or just a person in need. Don had a passion for cooking and enjoyed boating, kayaking, fishing, face timing his great-grandbabies, and visiting with just about everyone he met.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Maureen Brady Darville; sons John (Traci) Darville and Isaac Darville, daughter LaShawn Darville; brother Peter (Lisa) Darville, sister Pearl North; as well as five grandchildren, Austin (Arianne) Darville, Trent (Kayla) Darville, Adrianna Guy, Journey Guy, and Trenity Darville; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father John Alfred Darville, mother Ann Rita Darville (Sordini) and grandson Cameron Darville.
A celebration of Don’s life will be scheduled at a later date. In memory of Don, donations may be made to Calvary Chapel Worship Center in New Port Richey where he worshiped and served.

Don, you were a wonderful gentleman. Wonderful to talk to, always willing to help with those in need and offer advice and assistance to your family and friends. You had a heart the size of a mountain and as long as you were with Mo, you didn’t care what you did and were always happy. You were a wonderful father and grandfather, your wife and kids were you world and your grandchildren were your royalty. You will be missed terribly by all whom you touched in life. I love you Don and will always miss your laughter and smile.

Don was always so kind to me in high school! When families move around it’s hard to find friends and smiling faces in high school! Don was that to me even at the 50th reunion it was like no time had passed! May God rest his soul and comfort his family during this time!

Someone you could rely on, that was Don! He was always willing to help, no matter what the situation. He was a religious man and lived his life in kindness. He volunteered to help and make things happen. He will be sorely missed.

We are saddened and shocked at the loss of Don. He and Mo greeted us with open arms when we bought our vacation home next door. Don helped me with so many things around there and never had to be asked. He just did it. We knew Don for only three years, but received 30 years worth of kindness, care, and concern from him. When you saw Don, chances were good that Lucy was right there as well. Don always talked about life after Mo retired, and we are heartbroken that he will not be able to fulfill those dreams.
To Mo, Lucy, and family; We know this is going to be very difficult and we are right next to you in our thoughts and prayers. Don loved you both very much, and we hope that love and his legacy of kindness help give just a little bit of comfort.

I just heard this. I’m so sorry. Don was the nicest man I worked with. He was funny polite and a gentleman. I will remember him always. All the good times at Parks and Rec and with the Halloween parties. God rest his soul.

Loved working with Don for many years at Monsanto. He liked to have fun and a good laugh, but was serious about his work and keeping things on track. Shocked by his passing at his young age. Prayers for you, Don.

Donny was one of those guys I felt like I always known, a friend I could talk to about anything. Four years of great conversations, lots of jokes, and his helping hand and good advice of the moment. He was always there to help others anyway he could. His spirit is still on these waters which he loved. Don you will be greatly missed.

Donald was always willing to help me with small jobs in my mobile home. He even let me use his discount when buying blnds. He was a great nephew and I miss now. I remember when he was still in diapers and my sister and I would get him out of bed in the morning and take him outside to play. He was our baby and we loved to take him out to play.

Don will be remembered by us, for his generosity of spirit and his pleasant outlook on life. When our adult grandchildren came to visit, he would offer to take us all out for a sunset cruise on his boat with his lovely wife. It is such a nice memory to have of him. We’re glad we had the pleasure of knowing him. God bless him and his family.
