Donald (Don) August Darville, 71, passed away on Sunday, July 6th, 2025 at his home in Port Richey, Florida.
Don was born December 21, 1953 in Tampa, Florida. Growing up his family moved several times between the Tampa area and California eventually ending up in Frenchtown Michigan where Don attended Jefferson High School and graduated with honors in 1972. After graduation, Don worked at several trades including roofing, construction, plumbing, and electrical. Don retired from Monsanto in Trenton, Michigan and then again from Hernando County Parks and Rec after moving back to his birthplace of Florida.
Don was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for God and his family. He was a devoted husband and a dedicated father. His presence brought light and joy to all who knew him, and his love knew no bounds. He was a jack of all trades and kept busy using his many skills to help family, friends and his community. Don served on his community HOA boards both in Michigan and Florida. He loved helping people and would volunteer to help on all kinds of projects or just a person in need. Don had a passion for cooking and enjoyed boating, kayaking, fishing, face timing his great-grandbabies, and visiting with just about everyone he met.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Maureen Brady Darville; sons John (Traci) Darville and Isaac Darville, daughter LaShawn Darville; brother Peter (Lisa) Darville, sister Pearl North; as well as five grandchildren, Austin (Arianne) Darville, Trent (Kayla) Darville, Adrianna Guy, Journey Guy, and Trenity Darville; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father John Alfred Darville, mother Ann Rita Darville (Sordini) and grandson Cameron Darville.
A celebration of Don’s life will be scheduled at a later date. In memory of Don, donations may be made to Calvary Chapel Worship Center in New Port Richey where he worshiped and served.
