Donna Kay DeBoer

May 12, 1941~November 03, 2022

Our most loved Donna Kay DeBoer entered God’s Kingdom on November 3, 2022, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

Donna was born to John and Laura (Morris) Bornhouser on May 12, 1941, in Pittsburg, Kansas. She spent her childhood years moving with her parents across the U.S. as they sought work and finally settled in Florida. She spent much of her adult life as a professional housekeeper, where she was known to have a strong work ethic and a pleasant presence.
In 1989, Donna married Michael DeBoer. Donna was a loyal servant to God and a loving and devoted wife. She loved the church and loved serving others. She was a member of Covenant Christian Church and spent more than 40 years in the Boy Scouts of America. While in Scouting, she received multiple recognitions, including the Silver Beaver Award.
Donna adored children and could frequently be found preparing a Sunday School lesson or for a Scout meeting. When she was not working, she volunteered for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Explorer Scouts. Donna truly believed in community, service to that community, and strengthening the community through the connections made with its youth. She thought we could improve our world if everyone dedicated time to the next generation.
Donna joins her parents, her brother Fred Bornhouser, and her first husband Albert Hutchinson with the Lord in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, Jim (Elaine) Hutchinson, Herbert Hutchinson, Robert (Margerie) DeBoer, Michelle (Jason) Reid, eleven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at the Covenant Christian Church in New Port Richey on December 3rd, 2022 at 3:00 PM.
