On Saturday August 17th, Dorothy Agnes (Breitenbruck) Ginan peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family.
She was the matriarch of our family and well respected and loved by all that knew her.
Dorothy married her high-school sweetheart, Donald. They shared forty two years of marriage together raising a large family
while running their own business on Long Island. Donald pre-deceased Dorothy in 1994.
She was pre-deceased by husband Donald, as mentioned and son James. She is survived by four children: Donald, Karen,
Kenneth and Janice. And also survived by eight grandchildren: Heather, Amber, Kenny, Robbie, Leah, Jamie, Andrew and
Donny (deceased). And also eight great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed using her iPad to play games but especially to see photos and videos of her
great grandchildren. She was quick witted and her smile made it easy for everyone to want to spend time with her.
We will all miss her dearly.

Sending my love to all of you! I will always remember her giggle and how she made everyone smile! I loved that she couldn’t keep a surprise, she would laugh and say, “Kimmie, they know I can’t keep a secret”. She found joy in everyone’s happiness and she spread joy and happiness every time she walked in a room. All of her cooking was so good, but her potato salad was over the top! I’m gonna miss her making that potato salad because nobody could make it the way she could make it.
Thank you for all of the great memories, happy times And I can’t forget to thank you for all the times you let me spend the night. Love you And hold you in my heart always.

We’ve been extremely fortunate to have Mom in our lives for 91 years. Mom would say she was the lucky one. She shared her favorite recipes with anyone who asked. You’re right Kim, she did make the best potato salad ever. She was always asked to make her potato salad for any family get together. We’ll all miss her beautiful smile and her positive voice.
She always told us she was “fine and dandy”, even when we knew she wasn’t these past few months. We’re all left with many beautiful memories of Mom but we’ll still miss her every day.
Love you Mom!

Aunt Dottie you were the best and will be truly missed. You reminded me of my mom. Beautiful smile, delicious potato salad, and you saw the silver lining in life. I remember when Uncle Don use to pick on me when Jimmy and I were dating. One time you came and put your arms around me and said he only picks on those he loves. That is one on my fondest memories. From that time forward he would pick on me and I would needle him back. It was our way. I know you are all together again. Thank you for the love you shared with us all. ❤️

Aunt Dottie always with a wonderful greeting of hello my honey, and a beautiful smile and laugh. Mom’s youngest sister and best friend. Thanks for all the wonderful times at your house and the deli all of your children like my own brothers and sisters. Although she would often have to go thru a litany of names to get the right one she was always with a laugh and a smile. I know you and our other angels are up their looking after us all, be at peace. Love you snd think of you all always😇
