Dorothy Jay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, niece, sister, and friend. She left this world too soon on August 17, 2021, at the age of 58.
Dorothy was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth Delouker (Carlson). She is survived by her husband, Alan Jay; her children, Michael McGrady (Shannon), and Jackie Kaller (Nick); her father, Louis Delouker Sr.; siblings, Debbie Delouker, and Louis Delouker; four grandchildren, Blake, Luke, June, and Frances.
Dorothy was born on September 23, 1962, in Flushing, Queens, NY. Along with her husband and children, she relocated to Florida in the early nineties where she worked as an office manager in a plumbing company and as a bookkeeper for a private school. Dorothy was extremely family-oriented and viewed her greatest accomplishment as raising her children and being “Gigi” to her grandchildren. Her four grandchildren were her real pride and joy, and they knew it. She spent a lot of time with them and is leaving them with many happy memories.
Dorothy was an easygoing woman who was fun to be around. She loved to laugh and tried not to take life too seriously. She truly loved people and was very generous with her time and affection. Everyone who knew Dorothy would say that she radiated warmth and could make a stranger feel like a close friend. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a future date, to be announced on Facebook.

I surely do love this amazing lady! I was Always so happy to see her, because she was always so happy. She brought so much warmth, joy, and happiness whenever she went. She was always smiling every time I saw her. She will be missed by so many people. I don’t understand why things happen the way to do but I am lucky to have been able to know Dorothy and I will cherish all the memories and talks we had together. My favorite being the speech I made at Jackie’s graduation party, pretty sure Dorothy loved every second of that speech! She was a great lady. ❤️
