Duane Howard Huss was born October 11, 1938 in Williston, North Dakota to Albert And Minnie (Clausen) Huss. He was raised on the family farm south of Alamo, North Dakota, He attended country school until the 4th grade, when the family moved into town where he graduated from Williston High School in 1956.
After high school he enlisted in the Navy, He later attended North Dakota State University and North Dakota College of Science.
He moved to work Peoria, Illinois, but he loved North Dakota so he returned and worked for the American Crystal Sugar Plant in Hillsboro, North Dakota. He married Becky West (Paulson) and they had 3 sons. He later moved to Beulah, North Dakota where he retired after 21 years, from Great Plains Gasification Plant.
In 1995 he married Doris Abrahamson and resided in Beulah, North Dakota, until moving to Hudson, FL in 2015, where he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Duane was a quiet man who loved to play his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents, 3 brothers: Leonard, Vernon and Deway, 2 half brother and 1 half sister: Helmer, Ivan and Agnes Bustad.
He is survived by wife Doris (Hudson,FL) sons: Alan (Sunset, UT) Terry (Merritt Island, FL) Randy (Stacy) and Grandson Brady (Fargo, MD). Stepchildren: Mark (Hudson, FL) Shari (Beulah, ND) Wade (Beulah, ND), Barry (Sawyer, ND) and Brent (Beulah, ND) and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral Service will be December 6, 2019 11:00am at Hope Lutheran Church in Hudson, FL. Interment will be held at the East Plaza Cemetery in Plaza, ND on December 19, 2019 at 11:00am.

Robin and Mark, I am so sorry to hear this! I can't imagine how you are feeling, but I know that Duane is in a better place, young and healthy and happy.

Had the privilege of knowing Duane from DGC. Always a kind/quiet man. My condolences to the family. RIP Duane.

My condolences to Alan, Terry, Randy and Grandson Brady Huss, also Doris and family. I know he will be missed but now he is at rest and home with his family. God bless and take care of him.
