Edgar Curtiss Martin Jr.

Passed away on October 6th, 2022 at Trinity Hospital in Trinity Florida.  Edgar “Butch” Martin resided in Hudson FL.  He was born on March 15th, 1945 in Louisville KY to the late Edgar Curtiss Martin Sr. and Alvina Martin (nee Landswrath).  He served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked for 30 years at Ford Motor Company at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville KY.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Martin (nee Anderson) of Hudson FL.  His son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Chrissy Martin of Hudson FL. His grandson Jacob Martin of San Antonio TX.  He is also survived by a brother and several sisters along with many nieces and nephews.

For those that knew Edgar, knew a man that loved many, cherished friends and family and would do anything he could to help others.  A hard worker that took time to enjoy life.  Growing up with little taught him to cherish what truly mattered.  While not rich by earthly standards he was wealthy in friends and family and truly bragged about them whenever he could.

He will be missed by those that knew him, loved by those that loved him and rejoiced by those who know where he is now residing.  There will be a celebration of his life in Crestwood KY, at Crestwood United Methodist Church on October 29th.  A visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a short memorial service followed by a fellowship from 1:30 – 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Gideons International bible fund or Samaritan’s Purse charities.

Linda, Erick, Chrissy, and Jacob,
I am so sorry to learn of Edgar’s passing.
It was an honor to get to know this family.
Linda and Edgar were so friendly and gracious when I visited Edgar as a patient at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
They were such a nice and friendly couple.
Praise The Lord we know Edgar is in Heaven with Jesus.
In the future Edgar will welcome Linda and family into his new home in Heaven.
Linda and family you are in my prayers.
May The Lord Jesus Christ guide, bless and surround you Dear folks in the future.
