Edith “Eydie” Mary Bykowski Dayock passed away February 16th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband Jack Dayock; her sister Rosemarie Buszkiewicz; her mother Edith Bykowski Willbergh; father Stanley Bykowski; and step-father Walter Willbergh. She is survived by her brother Peter (Donna) Bykowski; children Christopher (Donna), Danielle (Simon), Joel (Wyndi), and Shauna; and her grandchildren Kaitlin, Justin, Yasmine, Laila, Luke, Logan, Aubreyanna, Noah, Owen, Nadya, August, Zarhya, Carsten, Lylah, Sadey, and Ruby.
Eydie graduated from Pope Pius High School in New Jersey and went on to graduate from Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in Teaneck, New Jersey, where she became an RN. She started out working nights, and most recently worked as a Hospice Nurse. She was a compassionate and caring nurse who was very conscientious in serving her patients and their families. During her career that spanned decades, she touched many lives in numerous roles and left a legacy with those she touched with her healing love. This had a direct correlation with her love as a mother with her soft voice, gentle smile, and kind spirit comforting her patients and children.
She lived in Tarpon Springs from 1986 until her passing and was a member of St, Ignatius Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, spending time with her family, getting her hair and nails done, and being fashionable. Her mom told stories of her always making them late because she would have to be sure her nails were painted before they could go anywhere. She had a love of Heavenly Hash ice cream, so much so, that one of her children thought there were no other flavors.
She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend to many. She is now at peace, with a sound mind and a new body, where she can dance on the streets of gold in paradise until we all see her again.
