July 18, 1947~January 08, 2025

Edward F. Brzycki, born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on July 18, 1947, passed away peacefully at the age of 77, surrounded by family, on January 8, 2025, at 9:57 p.m. A proud Roman Catholic, Ed now rests in the loving embrace of the Lord.

Ed is remembered for his nurturing heart, unwavering loyalty, and a sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was the embodiment of kindness and boundless generosity of his time, always ready to help his family, whether it was unlocking car doors, fixing a flat tire, or coming to the rescue when someone ran out of gas. He had a unique ability to turn any moment into an opportunity for laughter, bringing joy to those around him.  His sense of humor was infectious; he could turn even the most ordinary moment into a memory that would make everyone laugh, leaving a trail of joy in his wake.

Ed’s love for his family was profound. A devoted father, he was adored by his three daughters, Rebecca Brzycki, Regina Norton, and Rachel Brzycki, who saw him as their superhero after he bravely fought through multiple health battles in addition to being an amazing father.  He was known as “Daddio” to his children, and his love continued to shine through to his grandchildren, Ariel, Shainna and his great-grandson, Thomas Edward, named in honor of his great-grandfather.  He loved his many nieces and nephews.

Ed’s professional life was equally impressive and his work ethic and dedication were unmatched.  In his hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA, he worked as a certified locksmith and served as the locksmith and security officer for Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was also a dedicated public servant in Pasco County, Florida, where he worked for nearly 30 years.  Ed’s determination was unwavering, and he earned respect in his roles with the Roads and Bridges division, as a certified tree surgeon, and ultimately as a Public Works Labor Supervisor, retiring with pride.

Ed’s warmth, humor, and care extended beyond his family to his many friends who were like family, who would attest to his loyalty and kindness.  Ed was also a passionate sports enthusiast and was not known for sitting still long. His love for golf and pool led him to numerous trophies, especially at the Hollenback Golf Course in Pennsylvania. After moving to Florida with his family, he became well-known in his local community, spending weekends at the pool halls and golf courses.   His love for both games and good company was legendary. “Fast Eddie” wasn’t just a nickname, but a reflection of his larger-than-life personality. His spirited garage sale adventures were the stuff of family lore, where he could haggle with the best of them, always with a mischievous grin on his face.

Ed was preceded in death by his siblings Matthew, Frank, Teresa, and Maryann, and is survived by his beloved siblings Joseph, Stanley, and Nancy and friendship with his former wife which was a testament to the strength of his character as they remained the best of friends, united by the love they still had for one another and for their children.

Ed’s family and friends will celebrate his life at a later date, where they will share stories of his boundless love, his infectious laughter, and the remarkable and countless ways he made everyone’s life he touched a little brighter. He will be remembered not only for his boundless generosity, but for the joy he brought to everyone he encountered. He truly lived life with a heart full of love, service and a smile that could light up any room, with his unforgettable and quirky sense of humor.

May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to bring smiles and laughter to all who were lucky enough to know him.

Ed was a prankster, UT if you needed something, he was right there. Even through illness he had a boundless energy and went after what he wanted And what he thought was right. Ed loved his family and friends. My special thought of him…every Christmas I would bake my many cookies as Nita and I lived in the same apartment complex. He would always say, “make sure I get my cookies”. Nita and her daughters baked as well but he wanted my snickerdoodles and chocolate chip. Every Christmas Ed got his cookies even after Nita moved. He was kind and a gentleman. I have tears in my eyes, but know he has no more pain.
