Elsie, lovingly known as “Nana” was born on January 5, 1924. A pioneer woman for her time, she attended Packard Secretarial School in NYC with a degree in Advanced Secretarial and Accounting. Elsie had an incredible work ethic as evidenced by her extensive career history. She held Executive Secretary positions for the US Labor Department, Trans World Airlines, National Airlines, defense contractor Arma Bosch and was the Assistant Director of Finance for the Town of Hempstead, NY. Upon moving to Florida, she worked for Wallace Realty, Levitt Homes and Bowker Publishing. Elsie finally retired at the age of 89, working her last 8 years as bookkeeper/administrative assistant for Richey Boat and Motor in Hudson, Fl.
Elsie spoke fluent German, loved playing the piano and the organ at church, watching Family Feud and socializing by the pool. She was an avid reader and believed in keeping her mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles. Nana traveled to NY and NJ for many years making sure she was part of her great-grandchildren’s lives. The family loved listening to her stories from her childhood and beyond, so she wrote a 50-page book with photographs and a family tree that chronicled her life.
Predeceased by son William Patrick, Elsie is survived by her daughter Ellen Buck, son Charles Patrick, daughter-in-law Cheryl Patrick, grandsons Harold and Stephen Buck (Carolyn), granddaughters Christina Patrick and Kristin Watson. Great-grandchildren Marissa Buck, Kristin Buck Richardson, Stephen Buck Jr., Michael Buck, Jack Buck, Owen Watson and Jude Watson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She truly was a smart, independent, generous, kind, loving, firecracker of a woman who was way ahead of her time. Nana will be missed dearly, but her life story is an inspiration to all and we will carry her memory in our hearts forever.
The interment service has not been finalized and will be announced at a later time.

How truly blessed I was to have Elsie as a friend. I had the privilege of being Elsie’s hair stylist for 5 years. Every Friday at 1p.m she would pay me a visit . We would catch up on the week and all the happenings at ”The Landings of Sea Forest”. Over the years I learned about her wonderful life and family. Elsie truly loved talking about her family and how proud she was of her grandchildren. I will keep her memory in my heart and I will always be grateful for the time we got to share. Until we meet again may you R.I.P Elsie. Blessings
